Generating the Dashboard

“Fiscal Month” and “Ledger” are the main drop-downs that generate the dashboard. For Fiscal Month, the drop-down is preselected with prior fiscal month’s end date with respect to system date. The Ledger drop-down is also pre-selected as the ledger with the greatest number of active deals. “Save current parameters and resubmit” check box allows the user to save the preferred ledger that dashboard defaults to, should the user logout or navigate to another section of the environment.

Analytics

This section of the dashboard demonstrates cross comparison of Month over Month (MoM) and Year over Year (YoY) analysis of Balance Sheet and Income Statement. This analysis is done on natural account level and is exportable into Excel, CSV, and PDF documents. The analytics section is defaulted to MoM variance analysis, however, this can be changed to YoY view by using the analytics drop-down menu. The following describes how Balance Sheet and Income Statement analytics work:

  • MoM Balance Sheet Analytics represents YTD balances for the period/ledger selected, YTD balances for the prior period, delta between the YTD balances, as well as percentage change of the delta.

  • MoM Income Statement Analytics represents activity for the period/ledger selected, activity for the prior period, delta between the activities, as well as percentage change of the delta.

  • YoY Balance Sheet Analytics represents YTD balances for the period/ledger selected, YTD balances for the same period but prior fiscal year, delta between the balances, as well as percentage change of the delta.

  • YoY Income Statement Analytics represents YTD activity up to the period/ledger selected, YTD activity up to the same period but prior fiscal year, delta between the activities, as well as percentage change of the delta.

  • Delta is the difference between current and prior period.

  • Percentage change of the delta = delta / prior period

Additional Notes

Users should be aware of the following important notes:

  • Data presented on the dashboard is limited to user’s access and visibility to deals in the portfolio. This works the same way with data presented on various reports.

  • If the value for prior period column of analytics is 0, and current period columns of analytics has value, then the 0 is treated as 1 for percentage change calculation of delta. This function is in place to avoid producing null value for percentage change of the delta.
