New Asset Management Look - Product Advisory
February 2021
With this release, we did a facelift on the Asset Management workspace. This update created sections based on the type of attribute. The types of attributes are Compliance, Operational, Asset, and Allocation. Each of these sections behaves in the same way as they did prior to this release, but our hope is that the separated sections will help you better understand the fields that are impacted by the effective date field. As we move through 2021, we hope to make the user experience better for all.
Collapsible Management Segments
Upon landing on the Asset Management workspace, users will see a new layout for the screen. The upper section, with the asset tree and summary, remains the same. However, the different attribute segments are now in collapsible sections that can be expanded as needed. Each of these accordion sections has a separate ‘Save’ button, which will save any changes made in the respective area of the workspace only. Each section will need to be saved individually in order for better audit trailing to implemented.
Compliance Actions
Initiate Compliance Action for Selected Assets: This feature’s behavior and functionality remains unchanged, and is used for the creation of emails which can be sent to interested parties asking them for updates on the listed assets.
Operational Attributes
This is the section where EOT eligibility, available for use date, depreciation start date and other operationally-specific fields are shown. Additional operational attributes are the serial #, reference number, etc. Changes to fields in this section are for the life of the lease starting from inception. This feature’s behavior and functionality remains the same as in prior releases, therefore, please remember that changes made here are effective on day one of the lease. However, you will notice a new separate ‘Save’ button in this segment which will set the changes once clicked.
Date Selector
Changing of Asset and Allocation attributes are dependent on the Date Selector, which is presented as it was before this release, and is located above the accordion sections for the previously mentioned fields. This feature’s behavior and functionality remain the same as in prior releases. However, you will notice a new onscreen message letting you know how the system handles backdated changes to participants.
Asset Attributes
Asset attribute examples are Ship To, Vendor, Asset Owner, Asset User and others, as configured. The new separate ‘Save’ button in this segment uses the date specified in the date selector once clicked. Other than the new button, this feature’s behavior and functionality remain the same as in prior releases.
Allocation Attributes
Allocation attributes include Cost Center, GL Code, Project and others, as configured. The new separate ‘Save’ button in this segment uses the date specified in the date selector once clicked. Other than the new button, this feature’s behavior and functionality remains the same as in prior releases.
Stay tuned for exciting new things in 2021!
